New Moon in Virgo ~ September 8, 2010!! By Larry Williamson www.skybearastrology.com New Moons are times of new beginnings, planting seeds and setting intentions. The New Moon in Virgo will illuminate issues related to health, work, and service to others. This is an excellent time to improve our physical body through a new exercise program and to pay closer attention and discrimination to our dietary habits. Health conscious Virgo makes it easy to adapt to new routines. Virgo is the sign of the Virgin (Maiden), but if we look more closely at mythology we find the virgin goddesses was not a virgin in the sense of sexual innocence or naivete, for these goddesses were also sacred prostitutes who ruled over the mysteries of sex, birth and renewal. The word virginal means whole, single, possessed by no man, and servant or slave of no husband or lover. The meaning of Virgo is therefore connected with integration and wholeness. The value placed upon virginity is a man's idea as that's how men and the patriarchy controlled women ~ As if virginity was a wonderful thing in the first place. Another mythic figure that has a strong link to Virgo is the Goddess Hygeia. The goddess of health and herbal medicine. Hygeia was the daughter of Asclepius the renowned god of healing, whose famous healing temples were found throughout Greece. The people would come to the temple for healing where they would then cleanse and purify themselves in order to participate in the rites of dream incubation's where the gods/goddesses would appear and tell them what was needed to heal themselves. Hygeia is also the goddess of mental health another link to Virgo/Mercury. The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon reads: In the zoo, children are brought face to face with an Orang-Utang. Keynote: A direct confrontation with the “wild”power of primordial nature within oneself. It is a symbol of initiation. Jupiter floats back into Pisces on the 8th and stays anchored there until January 23, 2011 when it re-enters Aries. Mercury (ruler of Virgo) makes its station and moves forward on the 12th but won't reach its shadow point (station degree) until September 27th. New lines of communication and networking open with renewed efficiency and catch up on what we've missed. The planet of power, Pluto, makes his station on September 13 after being retrograde since the beginning of April. Pluto stations are very powerful and even potentially explosive. Consider that the First World Trade Center bombing and the Oklahoma City bombings occurred during a Pluto station! Less than two weeks after Pluto made its last station back on April 6, 2010, the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded and spewed its toxic (Pluto) oil and chemicals into the Gulf of Mexico (Pluto rules the underground and what is hidden – K.F.) and became the largest marine oil spill in history. Pluto makes a powerful opposition to Venus in the Sibly chart during the end of September into October. Watch the news like a hawk especially on the monetary and financial front for another potential crisis or meltdown. Historically, we know that October can bring ominous news to the financial markets. Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct on the 18th for their last dance in Pisces. Major breakthroughs and new discoveries abound in the world of science and technology ~ New awakenings, reforms, and changes within certain religious or spiritual institutions. Take the leap of faith! Jupiter/Uranus cycles are very powerful “seeding times”. They always ask us to take a risk, to gamble, have faith and go for it .The biggest risk of all is to risk nothing! Hospitals and medical centers will have to reform old business practices to accommodate the radical changes in the new health care programs. Unusual weather patterns such as hurricanes, floods, and tornadoes could erupt unexpectedly. At the time of this writing a major category 4 hurricane is forming all along the East coast of the United States. The outer banks of North Carolina have called for mandatory evacuation. Mercury Retrograde

MERCURY RETROGRADE: August 20-September 12, 2010 ~ In Virgo Mercury appears retrograde 3 times a year for approximately 3 weeks at a time. Here's the kicker ~ I attach a 3 week shadow on each side making it a 9 week period altogether. Not all of Mercury retrograde is negative, though. Yes, cell phones and computers can get glitchy; the light can come on in your car and you take it to the mechanic and nothing is wrong with it. ( I always tell people, unless it's the break light or something important, wait until after the retrograde to get it checked because it just might fix itself!) Anything with communication and transportation can go haywire and if you're a Gemini or a Virgo, ruled by Mercury, it can be even more frustrating. You must really be careful of what you say and how you say it. Words can be misconstrued. It's also a bad time to start anything new or sign important contracts or documents. The exception can be someone who is born with Mercury retrograde ~ it does not affect them as much. So what can possibly be positive? Lots! Mercury retrograde is an excellent time to contact or hear from people from your past! Rather than solicit new clients, return to your sphere of influence. Reach out to someone you need to REconcile with. It's an awesome time to REconnect. Go back and FINISH old projects so when the retrograde period is over you can begin new endeavors with a clean slate. It's not the best time to get married but how about REmarried? Rather than plan a trip to some place new, why not REvisit a favorite destination? Different people have different opinions on traveling while Mercury is retrograde. If it can be avoided, it probably should. Some plans may have to be REscheduled. It's almost impossible to hook up with new people but an excellent time to get together with old friends or plan a REunion! Just about anything you can put "RE" in front of works. Refurbish, redo, reconnect etc. The one exception can be remodeling. If it's your first time doing it and contracts are involved, try and wait until after. Things will have to be REdone. Don't go to a new agency, partner, or job if you can help it. Try to connect new endeavors with the past if that makes sense. Also, if you've had a dilemma you may now suddenly have an epiphany. If you've been waiting for something or someone to arrive it could happen now! We all have the ability to focus on the positive and make the most of trying situations. Use your energy wisely and constructively. Rather than branching out in new directions, go down a tried and true path. Be patient and really cautious with the words you choose and use. Drive extra carefully. Take time to REview. Think before you take action as your mind (Mercury) could be playing tricks on you! Stay as focused as possible and don't let it run your life. Summer Solstice 2010

SUMMER SOLSTICE ~ June 21, 2010 By Kerry Fezza Astrologers note: I use a solar chart beginning with 0 degrees of the Sun Sign on the Ascendant. I then use equal house cusps, starting with the next sign ~ 2nd House 0 Leo and so forth. I then plot the planets accordingly. I like to look at mundane events every three months to gage what the collective and our nation can potentially expect during this time. I use the Summer Solstice (S.S.) chart and the USA chart. On the solstices and equinoxes we are always dealing with the 0 Aries point, the most vital degree in the entire zodiac (see Uranian Astrology). Any planets that fall within 5 degrees of 0 Aries, 0 Cancer, 0 Libra, or 0 Capricorn, become major players in the chart. In 5 days, on June 26th, we will have a Lunar Eclipse at 4 Capricorn, effectively super-charging the Summer Solstice!! Stay tuned for an in-depth report! We usher in the Summer Solstice (S.S.) at 0 Cancer. Cancer is the Sun sign of the USA because our birthday is July 4th. The S.S. always brings forth matters related to patriotism, the military, national security, family, home and real estate. USA Venus and Jupiter, at 2 and 4 degrees Cancer respectively, create a time of celebration and sentimentality. A lot of us travel long distances (Jupiter) to be with family. USA Mercury, ruler of Gemini/communication, falls in Cancer too. S.S. Mercury is in Gemini reinforcing the exchanging of ideas. Both Mercury’s aspect the S.S. Moon, ruler of Cancer, in the 4th house of Cancer qualities! Because S.S. Moon lies at the last degree of Libra, highlighting fairness, justice and equality, expect the immigration debate to rage on with compromise being the hot topic! S.S. Mercury is in the 12th house of secrets along with USA Uranus and Mars ~ a combination of sudden or unexpected violence. We’ll likely have covert intelligence (from more than1 source ~ Gemini) regarding an act of aggression against us ~ Pluto (destruction/rebuilding, power, control, drama) sits at 4 Capricorn, opposite S.S. Sun, on the Eclipse point!! And it will be kept confidential. Other planets reinforce this: S.S. Mars in analytical Virgo, residing in the 3rd house of communication and transportation, squares (challenges) USA Uranus by 1 tiny, tight degree! Saturn, the mack daddy of limitation and restriction, suppresses messages in the same house. Saturn at 28 Virgo is only 2 degrees away from 0 Libra snuggled right up next to the 4th house of home, family, and country. Could certain powers be trying to ‘protect’ us from knowledge that is incredibly sensitive or unbelievable as in 911? Factor in USA Neptune ~ master of disguise ~ at 22 Virgo, hangin’ pretty close to Saturn in the 3rd. Both are in a funky aspect to S.S. Neptune and USA Moon in the 8th house of other’s money, shared resources, and discerning motives. This repeats the theme of falsifying information with the incentive to protect our creditors and debtors. Neptune can also be idealistic thinking and false perception. Now guess what lies at exactly 0 degrees Aries?? S.S. Uranus! ~ the bold and unpredictable planet ruling new thought consciousness, humanitarianism, inventiveness and the unconventional!! Freedom loving Uranus is also associated with Earthquakes and Explosions. We’ve already glimpsed USA Uranus stirring things up with volatile USA Mars, ruler of Aries, in the house of secret enemies. S.S. Uranus has a much more promising and prominent position at the very top of the Summer Solstice chart. Having this revolutionary planet at the most crucial degree of the zodiac, in the pioneering sign Aries, spells big changes and huge leaps forward into uncharted and controversial territory. Jupiter, the expansive planet, conjoins Uranus at 1 degree Aries. Ruler of gambling, Jupiter is often connected with luck and abundance. It magnifies whatever it touches. Because it is given rulership over higher education, legal, foreign and travel affairs, plus religion, I believe this summer season we can expect a surge in just some of the following areas: new age beliefs, innovative laws, unconventional medicine (ie. medical marijuana), more ground breaking technology, and a rise in overseas cultures playing a large role in the above. None of this is really new but expect these areas to suddenly move in unexpected directions and at a much faster pace! Uranus will retreat back into passive Pisces in mid-August, Jupiter in mid-September. This summer is just a glimpse into the future and what is to come in 2011! The last part of July sees conservative Saturn pass over into 0 Libra, pitting the old guard against the new. Saturn and Uranus (old school vs new school) have faced off several times in the past few years (the last election being a good example) just as they did in the 1960’s. Back then you had the counter culture movement, sexual revolution, and anarchy directed at the Republican government and Vietnam war. Over the next several years, these 2 planets will continue to oppose each other in the prominent signs of Aries/Libra. USA Saturn in Libra, is in the 4th house trying to balance our deficit and stabilize the real estate fiasco. It squares off with the S.S. nodes ~ karma and fate. The South Node (karma) is associated with ‘self-undoing’ and wouldn’t you know….it sits right on top of our USA Sun at 12 degrees Cancer? Directly opposite rests the North Node ~ our destiny ~ along with Pluto, in the 7th house of partnership and open enemies! Pluto can be powerful allies or those intent on destroying us. The usual antagonists will play a role in our fate but you may be interested to know that Uranus rules UFO’s and extra terrestrials!! Venus the money planet is in our house of personal income ruled by our Cancer Sun. We will be encouraged to ‘buy American’ and boost our own economy. However, with Sagittarius, ruler of far off places, governing our labor and service sector, we can still expect to be dependent on foreign resources. It is important to note in this season of patriotism that the worst situations bring out the best in people. The flip side of war like Mars/Uranus is passionate humanitarianism! And Jupiter budding up to Uranus would magnify this on the world stage!! At some level, to quote Louise Hay, all is well in our world ~ AND SO IT IS!
