New Moon in LEO!
|
| |
New Moon in Leo ~ August 9, 2010 ~ By Larry Williamson
The Lion roars as the New Moon in Leo awakens our spirit and encourages us to listen to our heart. The word courage comes from the Latin word for the heart, Cor, which literally means to take heart. As mythologist Joseph Campbell would say “Follow your Bliss”. This New Moon is referred to as a Crisis Moon or Super Moon. This is when the Moon reaches its perigee closest to the earth.
My favorite Solar myths for the Leo archetype are the Arthurian Grail legends which are essentially stories of wounding and healing. The King is wounded in the groin (this is before viagra) and the kingdom becomes barren. It's not until Parsifal (inner fool) goes on a quest to discover a magical vessel of healing and plenty- the Grail. The King is not a King who has been injured and recovering so he is the Wounded King. The healing finally takes place through the asking of a question, which sets into motion not only the healing of the King, but also the land. The quest for the Grail is really about the quest for healing, renewal and recovery. The triple conjunction between Venus, Mars and Saturn in Libra evoke the image of the “Wounded King calls on the ancient feminine for healing and reconciliation.
The New Moon in Leo is a favorable time to look for love and romance. However, it is vital that you set intentions to who you love and how you want to be loved. We need to bless those who challenge us to love more fully, for they are great teachers who show us when we are open hearted or closed hearted. When you keep your heart locked, you can never free yourself from the cocoon and enjoy the freedom of the butterfly.
The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon reads: A Chemist conducts an experiment for his students. Keynote: In inquiring into the hidden process of nature, the human mind experiences the thrill of discovery. It is a symbol of Alchemy. Venus squares Pluto ~ if a loved one is pushing for deep emotional commitment guard against compulsive reaction. This is not the time to yield to manipulative tactics.
Ceres (Earth Mother/Agriculture) makes her station and moves direct on the 8th , at 21 degrees of Sagittarius. Mother Russia continues to bake under this prolonged heat wave, All high temperature records have been beaten (100 degrees and above). Never has this country seen anything like this. Seventy one people drowned in a single day as many sought relief from a severe heat wave by jumping into lakes and rivers. Major fires continue to erupt mostly in western Russia and at least 2,000 homes have been destroyed. Russia is also experiencing the worst drought in over 130 years, coupled with the high temperatures causing the crops (Wheat, Barley) to wilt and shrivel. Looking at the horoscope for the New Russia transiting Ceres conjuncts Mars (heat/fire) in Sagittarius and will reach her return point in September!
Uranus drifts back in to Pisces on the 13th and will be there until March 12, 2011. Both Pisces and the 29th degree of any sign have to do with endings. Old emotional issues may resurface and unfinished business is afoot. Letting go of old attachments will free and liberate us from the anchors of the past. IT’s time to clear the decks before we set sail when Uranus re-enters Aries next March. Give up and let it go!
Mercury turns retrograde on the 20th at 19 degrees of Virgo. This is a favorable time to review, reassess and revise our daily routines. Mercury retro cycle can give rise to all kinds of sudden communication breakdowns, especially with electronics, computers, phones, printers, fax machines, ipods etc. If you do travel during Mercury retrograde be sure to review you personal schedules for any reservations, time and dates that have been made during this time. The upside of Mercury retrograde is excellent time for reorganization and reflection. Mercury turns direct on September 12 and reaches his shadow point on the 27th. The Sabian Symbol for Mercury retrograde reads: A Caravan of cars headed to the West Coast. Keynote: The need of cooperative effort in reaching any “New World” of experience.
Saturn squares Pluto on the 21st for the last dance between these two cosmic heavy weights. Historically, Saturn/Pluto cycles are times of conservative empowerment. The rise of far right wing groups such as the Tea Party, the Nazi movement, along with the surge of Para Military, Militia, and hate groups shows a 250% rise in Patriot groups according to civil rights reports. The good news according to Richard Tarnas, in his classic Cosmos and Psyche, is that Jupiter/Uranus cycles historically mark times of progressive/Liberal empowerment. Exactly how all this will ultimately shake out is unclear. However, come November get ready for the big smack down (metaphorically speaking) between the dark (Saturn/Pluto ) versus the light (Jupiter/Uranus). The question remains will the Democrats hold both the house and senate? Or will there be another conservative/reactionary revolution taking back the reins of power and control ? We shall see come November?

New Moon Solar Eclipse at 19 Cancer!

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Cancer
July 11, 2010
By Larry Williamson, www.skybearastrology.com
New Moons are times of new beginnings, planting new seeds and setting intentions. With the New Moon in Cancer we are preparing to take the plunge in search of an accepting womb. Cancer is after all associated with the mother instinct, nesting, family and security. The sign Cancer, from a more ancient tradition, actually gets much of its meaning from the bear. Directly below the constellation of the Crab (Cancer) is Ursa Major, the Great Bear. When you think about it, don't the qualities of Cancer align well with the image of a bear? The bear is a very protective animal. It loves to eat, and nesting is vital for its security. The oldest myths in the world come from the animals in the sky. My premise is that many of the qualities of the signs in the zodiac come from smaller star groups that surround the major constellations.
Eclipses in general often act as trickster vibe bringing to the surface buried issues or hidden problems, and so by their nature they are unpredictable. Solar eclipses are usually marked by external events. Watch the news like a hawk during this eclipse cycle for breaking news regarding those in positions of power and authority, royalty, celebrities and political leaders. It's prudent to put off major decisions until a week after the eclipse as new information comes to light and we may make a more conscious choice.
The degree for the New Moon from Zodiacal Symbology reads: A wounded Bedouin on his horse in the desert ~ Denotes one of unsettled tendencies with a strong desire for freedom and adventure. He is not well fitted for ordinary life. It is a symbol of Liberty. This New Moon Solar eclipse falls in the eighth house at the midpoint between the Sun and Mercury in the U.S. Sibly chart, and in wide opposition to Pluto in the second house. Something will come to light or be exposed surrounding sensitive information with national security issues. Secrets will be revealed or leaked about the billions of US dollars that are unaccountable for by the Afghan government. A financial firm is suspected of helping elite Afghans move vast sums of money to overseas accounts. Today U.S. Lawmakers are withholding 3.9 billion dollars in Afghan aid over corruption problems.
The watery nightmare continues in the Gulf region as the U.S. Progressed Moon conjuncts Neptune along with transiting Neptune conjunct the U.S. Natal Moon! This is the classic double whammy as feelings of helplessness, uncertainty and confusion abound. What a metaphor as the Moon/Neptune link evokes the image of oil and water. The symbol for the U.S. Progressed Moon from Zodiacal Symbology reads: The Virgin Astrea (goddess of justice) with bandaged eyes, being led away by the angels from the world flooded with misery, blood and injustice.
Uranus turns retrograde on the 5th then drifts back into Pisces for seven months until March 2011. Revelations and liberation come from within. The new seeds planted in Aries are now receiving blessings from the water spirits (Pisces) for a new and courageous voyage ahead. Chiron (the wounded healer) re-enters Aquarius on the 20th then splashes back into Pisces in February 2011. We all know that the “Chironian wound” is the wound that will not heal.
However, as long as the wound is being cared for, nurtured and administered to, it proves to be a source of renewal. It becomes an opening through which new life enters into and enlarges consciousness. It is the divine wound. Chiron in Pisces reminds me of the adage “It's your faith that makes you whole”.
Saturn opposes Uranus on the 26th, and this is the last out of five hits between them. This is an especially dynamic contact as the opposition between these two titans takes place at zero degrees of cardinal signs, Aries/Libra respectively. Issues around independence versus dependence come into play with relationships. Things that were once tolerable now feel oppressive and intolerable. This is a favorable time to break old habits and patterns that have been limiting your self-expression. Old structure and foundations that gave you security are no longer viable at this time. You're in the earthquake zone now! Letting go of the past is essential before it can free you. A new person you meet at this time could change or transform your life direction.
Saturn enters Libra on the 21st and remains there until October 2012. The last time Saturn was in Libra was back in 1980-82. At that time the USSR planned to withdraw from Afghanistan, 280 people died on flight Pan Am 103 over Scotland, Reagan became President, A former aid claimed Nancy Reagan was using astrology to plan her husband's activities. Now, transiting Saturn squares Venus in the U.S. Sibly chart as the economic recession and cash crunch continues unabated. Republicans continue to block unemployment benefits for the long-termed unemployed. 1.2 million Americans have already missed a check because of the Senate's inability to pass legislation. It is clear that the economic strategy for the Republicans in congress is to ensure electoral gains in November by undermining any possible economic recovery. Saturn also squares Obama's natal Venus in early Cancer, I'm certain he's probably feeling that he's not getting the “Love” he deserves? With Saturn in Libra or Saturn/Venus contacts we have to work harder in order to earn the love , respect and approval from others. This is the classic signature of “Tough Love”. Often tough love is about letting go of wants that are masquerading as needs, rather than hanging on to them.

FULL MOON ~ LUNAR ECLIPSE! Saturday, June 26, 2010
By Kerry Fezza
A full Moon occurs when the Sun is opposite the Moon pitting the masculine, ego identifying pride of our Solar star against the sensitive, intuitive, female energy of our Lunar star ~ nature versus nurture, conscious versus unconscious, action versus reaction as examples. Full Moons are known for their intensity (especially by law enforcement). They bring events to culmination or fruition. Super charge with an Eclipse and you’re in for one wild ride!!
Eclipses occur in a series of opposite signs for approximately 18 months. This series falls in Capricorn/Cancer. These are 2 of the cardinal signs, the others being Aries and Libra. These 4 signs can continue to expect major changes! Capricorn and Cancer will experience important relationship events reflecting the transformation within themselves. Aries and Libra will make big adjustments with their career and home. Eclipses can also be revealing!
This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is at 4 degrees Capricorn directly reflecting and energizing the Summer Solstice (0 Cancer) chart from June 21st. (See my article below on the Summer Solstice.) The cardinal signs are strong and assertive! Any planets and points that fall within 5 degrees of 0 Aries, 0 Cancer, 0 Libra or 0 Capricorn (the cardinal axis) become very important players in a chart. The 0 Aries point is the most critical degree in the zodiac and the four Cardinal signs are all relevant to it.
Not only is this Eclipse within 5 degrees of the cardinal axis, it falls on the volatile planet Pluto also at 4 degrees Capricorn! That’s a whole lot of combustible energy!! Pluto rules death and rebirth, completely destroying whatever is not working and building something new out of the ashes. (When Pluto entered corporate loving Capricorn in November 2008 you saw a dramatic shift in the economy!) Pluto is deep, probing and intense often associated with violence, terrorism, extremism, power, control, passionate desire and drama. The key word for Pluto is transformation. He governs the underground, the bowels of the earth. Pluto is secrecy while eclipses bring hidden things to light. (Could be interesting??) Pluto rules nuclear energy, explosions, eruptions and volcanoes. What a summer!
The sign of Capricorn relates to big business, economics, and conservatism. Expect big upsets in these areas.
Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn, another key player. Saturn sits at the top of the Eclipse chart only 2 degrees away from 0 Libra, in the analytical, environmental, health and service oriented sign of Virgo. He falls in the 9th house of foreign, legal, and distant travel affairs, law, religion and higher learning. Saturn represents the old guard, tradition and authority. You can bet he’s holding tight to the conservative values, traditional laws and beliefs this country was founded on! He has been challenged in recent years (as in the 1960’s) by the higher minded planet Uranus. Only now Uranus makes a bold move…She has moved into the key position of 0 Aries!! Almost directly opposite Saturn and squaring off with Sun, Moon and Pluto on the cardinal axis!
Aries is the unabashed, enthusiastic, ambitious and aggressive pioneer of the zodiac, always willing to forge new paths regardless of what others might think or whether it is in its best interests. Now factor in Uranus, the maverick planet, at its most critical degree…
Familiar to unique and different, Uranus is a true humanitarian. She doesn’t judge others by their race, religion or sexual orientation rather she encourages the unconventional and is completely unpredictable herself! A fair representation of our new President, Uranus is also a politician. She is exciting ~ uninhibited, inventive, and illuminating. The mad scientist, Uranus rules technology, electricity, and alchemy while governing earthquakes and explosions. Expect the unexpected!!
Magnifying eccentric Uranus is Jupiter at 2 degrees Aries, who loves to live large and expand anything he touches. Only 2 degrees away, he’s bound to make a big impact on Uranus at the 0 Aries point. Jupiter is the jovial planet associated with philanthropy and philosophy. He is given ruler ship over gambling, laws, higher education, long distance travel, foreign affairs and higher education. The pairing of this dynamic duo can breed some pretty radical breakthroughs in these areas. Their close opposition to Saturn represents strong resistance from traditionalists. A huge uprising of global compassion could be our response as we herald in the new!
Mercury, the quirky neutral planet, ruling communication and transportation, makes a guest appearance at 2 degrees Cancer basking in the glow of the Sun, opposing the Moon/Pluto eclipse point and squaring off with Saturn, Uranus and Jupiter! What role will the media be asked to play? How will government intelligence be relayed? ~ And how will it be received with our new thought consciousness and desire for change? What frequency are we on? Stay tuned…
The energy surrounding a Lunar eclipse can last as long as 3 months ~ 1 ½ months on each side. This would mean we’ve been experiencing some effects already. The real significance is the Full Moon eclipsing the Summer Solstice chart! Please read below. It’s more technical but the important info is there.
So…the stage is set!! We have dynamic players, with defined roles, motivated by their juxtaposition on the cardinal axis ~ Brace yourself for one heck of a show!!

New Moon in Gemini
|
| |
New Moons are times for planting seeds, setting intentions and new beginnings. The New Moon in Gemini nourishes us through reading, writing, learning new information and communication. Gemini is the sign of the twins, Castor and Pollux, the sons of Zeus, who were hatched from an egg laid by Leda after she mated with Zeus who disguised himself as a swan. This serves as an excellent metaphor for Gemini's propensity for flight and movement. Exploring new uncharted areas is the quest for Gemini's restless mind and roaming nature.
Mercury, the messenger of the gods is the ruler of Gemini. He is the only god who is able to travel between two worlds. It was he who guided both Persephone and Eurydice back from the underworld into the world of light. Thus, Gemini’s often feel as though they travel between two worlds. Mercury always carries a healing rod, the caduceus, given to him by Apollo. This reminds us of the healing power of our words of kindness.
Mercury square Mars on the 10th stimulates both the mind and nervous system. Think before you speak! One of my favorite stories in myth relate to Mercury and Mars. The baby Ares was kidnapped by two giants who put him into a brazen jar where he was imprisoned for 13 months. Just as he was about to give up hope, Mercury came to rescue him. This clearly suggests we need to speak and communicate our needs in order to free ourselves from places in which we feel stuck.
Jupiter conjuncts Uranus in Aries on the 7th. Historically, these cycles often coincide with new breakthroughs and discoveries. The last Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Aries took place back in 1927-28. At that time, the Belgian astro-physicist Georges Lemaitre proposed the big bang theory and Charles Lindbergh made his first non-stop solo transatlantic flight. The Holland Tunnel opened connecting Manhattan and New Jersey and Richard E. Byrd began his expedition to Antarctica. More recently in 1969 the conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus brought us the Apollo Moon Landing and the earliest internet transmissions, just two examples of new scientific breakthroughs that changed the world. Social and political unrest, change and reform are hallmark signatures of these cycles. This conjunction will occur again on September 10,2010, and January 4, 2011. Fasten your seat belts!
The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on the 26th conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn, and both conjunct the Sun in the horoscope for the new Russia born December 25, 1991, 5:25 pm, Moscow. This is the first time the new flag began flying over the Kremlin. Power struggles between the government and Chechen Rebels could bring domestic violence and unrest. Major earthquakes and volcanic eruptions along with other environmental and ecological challenges continue to be on the rise until the end of the year. To be forewarned is forearmed! The Sabian symbol for this eclipse reads: “Indians on the war path. While some men row in a well-filled canoe, others in it perform a war dance.”
Saturn in Virgo is quincunx Neptune in Aquarius on the 27th. The common link between both these signs is Service! Mythic allies, the meeting of Mother Earth (Virgo) and Father Sky (Aquarius) brings effective healing though compassionate detachment. The duty of social service and social conscience empowers the pragmatic mystic.

New Moon in Taurus
|

New Moon in Taurus, May 13, 2010
~ Courtesy of Skybear Astrology
New Moons are times of new beginnings, planting new seeds and setting intentions. The New Moon in Taurus reconnects with the earth on both physical (Sun) and emotional (Moon) levels. Taurus is always about the principle of pleasure and beauty. This seems fitting for the Venus-ruled sign. This New Moon asks us to reflect on what gives us pleasure and what makes us feel rich or content. Taurus is the most physical of all the earth signs, and it can nourish us by honoring our bodily instincts through touching, holding, hugging, feeling, and doing all those things that make you feel good.
Mercury turns direct (forward) on the 11th opening up new lines of communication that offer us pragmatic solutions to new financial goals. An opportunity presents itself for establishing a realistic financial budget. This is also a beneficial time to work on enhancing services for new clients and setting new earnings projections.
Venus splashes into Cancer on the 19th, gently reminding us that by spending quality time with those we love we enhance emotional nourishment and contentment. With Venus in Cancer we may want to beautify our environment or redecorate the home. This is a favorable time for peace and resolution with internal family conflicts. Unless you have a home that heals your spirit, you will never heal.
Recently, back on April 26, Saturn (resistance) made its fourth opposition to Uranus (change, reform) for the last time in the Virgo/Pisces axis. The final opposition between these two Titans will be on July 26th in the Aries/Libra axis. The shift from the feminine to the masculine should not be underestimated.
Passive resistance morphs into direct confrontation from those who feel cut off from civil and equal rights. The new, and highly controversial, Arizona Immigration law (reform?) will continue to become a volatile tinderbox.
On May 23rd the planet Jupiter in Pisces (faith) opposes Saturn (critical) in Virgo. The church elders prepare for more damage control with secret sex scandals. Authority figures tend to be more demanding than generous. Keep the faith and with patience and perseverance conditions will improve. Opportunity comes through preparation.
The two worst environmental disasters in the United States from devastating oil spills both occurred during important Neptune (oil) transits to the Sibly chart. On March 24, 1989 the Exxon Valdez oil spill at Prince William Sound, Alaska shows transiting Saturn/Neptune conjunct and in direct opposition to the Sun in Cancer in the Sibly chart. The BP oil rig explosion on April 20, 2010 occurred during a transiting Neptune conjunction to the Moon in the Sibly chart. The next time line to watch is from September 23 through the end of November when Chiron and Neptune align together for the last stand in Aquarius, and both will conjunct the Moon in the Sibly chart. Many experts already predict this will eclipse the 1989 Exxon Valdez incident.
Chiron the wounded healer turns retrograde in Pisces on June 4th, Healing comes from within. The inclusion of the feminine principle is vital if healing is to take place. Every psychological or spiritual counselor knows this, for it is clear that without the feminine powers of warmth, concern and intuitive understanding, the healing process will not happen. Most important, the soul herself, which is always feminine, must be present if healing is to occur.

New Moon In Aries
|
| |
New Moon in ARIES, April 14, 2010
New Moon's are times of new beginnings, planting seeds and setting intentions. The New Moon in Aries is about fresh starts, turning over a new leaf and making the leap forward. Aries is the youngest of the signs and often expresses child-like qualities with playful innocence and no sense of consequences. Aries is the first of the dynamic fire signs (impulsive, assertive) and at times need to look before they leap. This is the New Moon to really attack and go after what you want.
With the New Moon in Aries we can re-energize our relationship with our inner warrior. In mythology Aries was a dancer before he became a warrior and was tutored by the ancient phallic god Priapus. In tribal cultures warriors are dancers. Ancient Celtic proverb says “You don't give weapons to a man until you've taught him how to dance”.
On April 4th a 7.2 earthquake hit Baja, California and on April 6th another 7.2 earthquake rocked Sumatra. Both set off major Tsunami warnings ~ all just prior to Pluto going Stationary retrograde!
Pluto stations are especially powerful and volatile. The first World Trade Center bombing occurred during a Pluto station. The effects of planetary stationary periods can be felt a few days before and a few days after the exact date of the planetary station. That said, the best indicators of major earthquake activity are the New and Full Moon cycles. The West Virginia coal mining accident killed 25 in a methane blast the very day of the Pluto station! Mars in Leo, quincux Pluto in Capricorn. Let go of old attachments and open your heart. We miss a lot of love because we expect it in a certain form.
Mercury turns retrograde on April 17th at 12 degrees of Taurus and goes direct in motion on May 11th. Important money matters need to be reviewed through strategic planning. Good time to reflect and realign our core values. Steady as she goes!
Saturn slides back into Virgo on the 8th preparing for the fourth opposition to Uranus on the 26th, in a series of five. Political polarization has become the most intense in decades. Extreme right wing militia groups have increased by 244% according to the latest government statistics. Talk of state succession from the union continues from conservative talking heads. Several governors asked their attorney general to file a law suit against the federal governments health care reform plan claiming it's unconstitutional. The reality (Saturn) is they have no shot! You can smell the winds of change and civil unrest on the horizon. The Civil Rights movement along with Vietnam War protests are examples of the Uranus/Saturn opposition of the mid 60's and the call for change and reform.
Chiron (wounded healer) enters Pisces on April 19th for the first time since 1960-69. This was the time of JFK and Camelot, and MLK’s ‘I have a dream’ era. This was a time when music changed and transformed the world ~ The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan just to name a few. Chiron in Pisces also coincided with the Civil Rights and antiwar protests of the 60's. Back in 1963 Adlai Stevenson gave a speech in Dallas, Texas a month before the assassination of JFK extolling the virtues of joining the United Nations. There was a group of extreme conservative protesters who spit on him and one woman hit him over the head with her sign. They were all arrested. Adlai said “I don't won't these people arrested, I just want them to go back to school.” This serves as a most powerful metaphor for those who wish to engage in violence with their 'might make’s right' attitude rather than engage in democratic civil discourse.
Transiting Neptune exactly conjuncts the (USA) Moon in Aquarius in the Sibly chart. President Obama announces his plan for off shore oil drilling. Is this another broken promise or just a smoke screen? The degree for the New Moon at 25 Aries reads from Zodiacal Symbology: An old man with a scythe cutting down a field of nettles ~ Denotes one who cuts his way through pricks, scratches and wounds. It is a symbol of Revealing.

SPRING EQUINOX
|
| |
VERNAL (SPRING) EQUINOX, 3/20/2010

Astrologers note: I use a solar chart beginning with 0 degrees of the Sun Sign on the Ascendant. I then use equal house cusps, following with the next sign ~ 2nd House 0 Taurus and so forth.
I do the Solstice and Equinox charts from a mundane perspective looking at how the chart might affect our nation over the next 3 months until the Summer Solstice. The USA chart I like to factor in is the 7 degree Gemini rising chart. Feel free to apply the info personally as well.
For those of you who have studied astrology with me, you would know that “happy” aspects between planets are Trines and Sextiles. If you remember, the more challenging aspects are squares and oppositions. Conjunctions (2 planets next to each other) can go either way depending on the nature of the planets themselves.
Pluto (nuclear energy, tearing down and rebuilding, deep desire, power, and control) entered Capricorn (corporate America, security, frugality) in November 2008. As such it conjuncted a major angle of the natural Zodiac where it will remain due to its distance from Earth and its slow rotation. Therefore it now plays a major role in the Equinox/Solstice reports.
On March 20th the Sun (our nature) enters Aries (confident, aggressive, independent) conjuncting Mercury (communication), joining Venus (pleasure, happiness) and opposing Retrograde (the past) Saturn (delays, restriction, discipline, authority, structure) in Libra. This opposition forms a T- square to Pluto. As we begin Spring with the hope and promise of a new season we can expect to be challenged by the same powerful enemies and entities who have opposed us previously.
Chiron (wounds and healing) in the USA chart sits in Aries conjunct V.E. Venus. I think this speaks to faith in the health care issue finally breaking ground but the same problems will still arise from the usual antagonists. V.E. Sun is in an out of sign conjunction to V.E. Uranus sharing the opposition to Saturn. Uranus represents new thought and unconventionality verses Saturn’s traditional stance on medicine and its representation of big pharmaceutical companies.
USA Chiron, sextiles USA Moon (the public, females, families), in the house of hopes, wishes and friendships offering support for the cause. However, it also widely squares USA Pluto in the same prominent sector as V.E. Pluto. This could be a huge public debacle for us on the world stage or we could pioneer (Aries) a huge transformation (Pluto) in the health care system! In addition, V. E. Neptune (drugs, disillusionment, escapism), conjuncts V.E. Chiron in the same sector as USA Moon, squaring V.E. Moon in Taurus/2nd house (stubborn, pragmatic). We may waste a lot of our resources and feel disenchanted fighting against so much resistance.
But luck is with the whole health care reform idea in the grand trine that’s formed between V.E. Moon (Taurus), USA Pluto (Capricorn), and USA Neptune in Virgo/6th house of HEALTH & alternative medicine!! Resources, plus power, plus idealism and healing may just triumph in the form of alternative health care. This is especially evident with USA Neptune opposite V.E. Uranus!! We may be going way outside the “norm”. Looking at this configuration, legalizing marijuana makes a lot more sense! V.E. Uranus sextiles V.E. Moon, so any financial surprises such as fund raising from secret sources would benefit us.
USA Mars is in Gemini/3rd house (communication). The internet and/or the media will of course play a big role in stirring up the healthcare debate ~ for better with its sextile to USA Chiron, and wide trine to V.E. Neptune and Chiron ~ or for worse with its t-square to the Uranus/Neptune opposition!
We have another Grand Trine, diffusing the harsher side of Saturn. V.E. Saturn in Libra, trines USA Ascendant in Gemini, and USA South Node in Aquarius. This highlights fabulous networking and interacting opportunities with those who oppose any of our objectives.
Uranus (expect the unexpected!) in the V.E. chart falls late in Pisces/12th house (hidden enemies, denial) forming an out of sign conjunction with the Sun on the ascendant. This makes all our plans unstable at best. However, they both share a nice trine with V.E. Mars (ruler of Aries, ambition and drive) in Leo/5th house (our children, pleasure pursuits and speculation). Our youth oriented culture with its entertainment and sports hero’s will champion our best efforts. V.E. Mars also sextiles V.E. Saturn softening its opposition to Uranus, the Sun and Mercury. Pop culture figures have a large impact on both sides of the equation! Mars is in a funky aspect to Pluto in the public sector. Those who have influence still can’t reverse the ultimate outcome.
Uranus conjunct the Sun/Ascendant in the Vernal Equinox chart, opposite Saturn and squaring Pluto, is big foreteller of earthquakes and more natural disasters but this time on home turf. Pluto rules volcanoes and terrorism. Uranus is connected with explosions. And Saturn rules structures. Saturn retrograde ~ rebuilding and restructuring.
When you factor in USA Venus conjunct USA Jupiter (luck, abundance, excess) residing with USA Sun in Cancer/the 4th house (home, family, and real estate) you create a grand cross (major square) with the Uranus/Sun/Mercury/Saturn/Pluto t-square. This reinforces the notion of false optimism but also the pride and determination we share as a nation to triumph in adversity. V.E. Jupiter in Pisces/12th house (Spirituality, imagination, artistry) trines USA Sun strengthening our faith in the unknown. The V.E. south node (self undoing, karma) sits in the 4th too meaning we can’t fool ourselves into thinking everything is rosy. We still have a huge mountain to climb ~ North node (destiny) with Pluto in Capricorn/10th house (accomplishment, achievement). Our desire for success in the face of major changes makes us who we are ~ proud, determined and united!!

NEW MOON IN PISCES ~ CROW MOON
Courtesy of Skybear Astrology
New Moons are times of new beginnings, planting seeds and setting intentions. The New Moon in Pisces is a magical time to let yourself be open to vision quests and creative imagination. Pisces is the oldest sign in the zodiac and I believe it also contains the most wisdom. With the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, and Uranus in Pisces we can nourish our spirits through what many indigenous people refer to as the four healing salves of life: Singing, dancing, drumming, and story-telling.
This New Moon is our chance to heal and begin doing at home what needs to be done globally. The cosmic message is loud and clear, unification not separation. It’s time to devote ourselves to empathic and compassionate service for the greater good of all. “As we create ourselves anew, so we change the world around us”.
The degree for the New Moon from Zodiacal Symbology reads: A dowser, with a wand of hazel in his hands, finding water on barren lands. This denotes one who will be blessed with natural gifts of a very high order. He will be very fortunate in his undertakings and beneficial to the people. He is a searcher and seeker. It is a symbol of Discovery.
We have all read the news by now of the titanic earthquake in Chile on February 27, 2010. This occurred just prior to the Full (Crisis) Moon on the 28th. A Crisis Moon is when the Moon reaches it's perigee, closest to the earth. I've said many times before that earthquakes almost always occur during either the New Moon or Full Moon. The actual recorded statistics are astounding!
The other revealing signature was the Sun/Jupiter conjunction in Pisces for the first time since February 1998, a twelve year cycle. The major asteroid Ceres (Earth Mother), ruler of ecology and environment, was in a tight square with Uranus. The one glimmer of hope, despite the devastation, was the Chilean government and its people were so much better prepared (Virgo) than Haiti. (On September 11, 1980 (Virgo) a new constitution was approved and the dictator General Pinochet became president for an eight year term.)
Venus enters Aries on March 7th and trines the asteroid Hygeia (goddess of health). The courage of an open heart provides good medicine for the soul. The female warrior Amazon archetype is associated with Venus in Aries representing how to be assertive, take action, and also to be feminine and loving. Feminist and writer Gloria Steinem (Aries) was once asked by a reporter why she never married? She replied 'Because I don't mate well in captivity'! Now that's Aries!
Mars retrograde since December finally moves direct on March 10th. Personal plans and projects on the back burner get the green light and charge ahead with renewed enthusiasm. Mars, conjuncting Obama's Sun the last week in April, brings a surge of energy, confidence, and leadership amidst political battles. Could victory with health care (Mars 6th) finally be afoot? Obama's progressed Sun moves into Libra on September 2010 and conjuncts the M.C. in the Sibly chart. This denotes a renewed spirit of cooperation and bipartisanship towards his political adversaries.
Jupiter trines the U.S. Sun on March 14th, offering renewed hope in moving forward with major legislation. It also favors a boost in Obama's approval ratings. Watch the news for religious or spiritual (Jupiter/Pisces) developments. Transiting Pluto (sex) in Capricorn (government) opposes Jupiter(laws) in the Sibly chart. Old and outdated policies (Don't ask, Don't tell) call for major reforms with military protocol and death of an old belief system.
Neptune makes an exact conjunction with the Moon on the 14th in the Sibly chart. The tidal wave that's coming near you is 'mass hypnosis' ~ television, internet, iPod, iTunes, i phone, ipad, blackberry, twitter, facebook etc. The truth is we're all addicted to the new technology (Neptune/Aquarius). The point is we all need to 'unplug' now and then take time to smell the roses. Repeat after me, “I am addicted to my computer, TV, iphone, blackberry etc. I have a technology problem. I am a problem user.” Sometimes we need to face head on whatever we think the problem/addiction may be. Remember, it's acceptance that allows the healing magic to work.
“I would spread the cloths under your feet,
But I, being poor have only my dreams,
I have spread my dreams under your feet,
tread softly because you tread on my dreams”.
~ W.B. Yeats
